Yi Hwang Academy of Language Excellence (YHALE) is a tuition-free, dual immersion, statewide charter school. YHALE does not admit or limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or ancestry.

Open enrollment for new student applications for the 2025-2026 school year will begin January 7, 2025.
Before You Apply
– Applicants for Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025.
– Applicants for 1st grade must be 6 years old on or before September 1, 2025, regardless of completing Kindergarten at a private school.
– All residents of the State of Georgia are eligible to apply at YHALE.
YHALE’s Admissions Process by Grade Level
Our admissions process varies by grade level. In accordance with guidelines set forth by the Georgia Department of Education (SBOE Rule 160-4-9-.05) and to ensure your child’s success at YHALE , all prospective students entering 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th grade must demonstrate a specific level of proficiency in either Chinese Mandarin (simplified) or Korean through the Avant STAMP 4Se Assessment. Kindergarten and 1st Grade
- Enrollment is open to all rising kindergarten and 1st grade students who are Georgia residents regardless of experience or proficiency in a target language offered at YHALE.
- Create a Lotterease account. From your Lotterease account you can create, submit, and track the status of your application.
- If selected, our Enrollment Specialist will assist you through the final steps and review your submitted documentation.
2nd Grade and Above
- Take a sample STAMP assessment.
- Register and take the STAMP assessment. Click HERE to register.
- YHALE will notify you of the STAMP results and next steps.
- After receiving a passing score on the STAMP assessment, create a Lotterease account. From your Lotterease account you can create, submit, and track the status of your application.
- If selected, our Enrollment Specialist will assist you through the final steps and review your submitted documentation.
Non-Electronic Ways to Apply
Applicants may submit a paper application if they prefer or do not have the means to complete the electronic application. YHALE staff will transfer the information from paper applications into an electronic form in Lotterease. Paper applications may be obtained in one of the following ways:

– If you would like an application mailed to you or one prepared for you to pick up, please email [email protected] or call (404) 738-6219 and ask for the Enrollment Specialist.
Once you complete the paper application, please mail it to YHALE or submit it to YHALE’s front desk during the enrollment period. Please note that applications will only be accepted for grades with available seats.
