OUR CURRICULUM

What is Dual Language Immersion (DLI)?

-DUAL Language Immersion is an academic program that is taught in two languages. YHALE offers a Korean-English Immersion program and a Mandarin English Immersion program. Using a 50/50 model, half of a student’s instruction time is in English and half is in a target foreign language.

What are benefits of dual language immersion?

DLI students typically develop greater cognitive flexibility demonstrating increased attention and memory, superior problem-solving skills as well as an enhanced understanding of their primary language.

The ancients see me not, nor I, the ancients, Though I see the ancients not, the Way they trod is before me, Their Way before me, can I but follow.

– Yi Hwang –

State-Wide School Zone

YHALE has a State-Wide School Zone! This means that any rising K-5 child,  who lives anywhere in the State of Georgia may enroll at YHALE.

What is a Charter School?

Charter schools are public schools of choice, offering unique opportunities not available in traditional public schools. Charter schools have more flexibility in order to achieve their unique objectives, but must achieve higher student performance than the average public school.

Our Story

Every parent wants their children to thrive socially, emotionally and intellectually.
At Yi Hwang Academy of Language Excellence (YHALE) we believe that this
requires flexibility and innovation in the world of education. We believe that the
future is bright with young minds that can grow in purpose, mission and virtue.
At the heart of our program we believe that Dual-Language Immersion not only
strengthens their minds, but opens their hearts to our wide, diverse world.
