Nancy Carpenter

1st Gr - English

Mrs. Carpenter holds a current Georgia Teaching Certificate which includes continuing education in early literacy. Most of her teaching career has been in kindergarten, but she has also taught 4th grade. This is her second year teaching first grade here at YHALE! This is her 28th year teaching! Mrs. Carpenter loves spending time with her family, crafting and hanging out at the lake.
Esther Wang

Esther Wang

1st Gr - English & ESOL

Mrs. Wang holds a BA in Communication and her MAEd in Elementary Education with certification in ESOL. She began her teaching career overseas in China before resuming teaching 6th grade in the United States. She taught 6th grade for 4 years before coming to Yhale as a 1st and 2nd-grade teacher. Mrs. Wang is married and has three kids. She enjoys writing stories, singing at church, and spending time with her family. When not at school, Mrs. Wang is a real estate professional with Better Homes and Gardens Metro Brokers Atlanta.
Gongyan Chen

Gongyan Chen

1st Gr - Mandarin

Ms. Chen received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from University of North Georgia and earned her GA teaching certificate in 2021. She had 2 years of experience tutoring and teaching elementary school children and had been substituted in Gwinnett County Public Schools before. She lived in Duluth with her husband and an one-year-old baby boy, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She joined YHALE in July 2022. She loves watching dramas and tasting delicious food on the weekends.
Dr. Eun Jung Kyeong

Dr. Eun Jung Kyeong

1st Gr - Korean

I received my Bachelors degree in Korean Language & Literature, Masters and Doctoral degree in Korean Language Education. I have about 14 years of teaching experience. I have taught at multiple middle schools, lectured for students at Inha University graduate school, and lectured for undergraduate students at Ansan University. In addition, I have given lectures on Korean language for native speakers, including professionals and students at The National Institute of Korean Language. I have also worked as a language researcher and taught Korean at The Korean Language and Culture Center of Inha University. I co-authored “The Digital Local Culture Encyclopedia of Korea” at The Academy of Korean Studies. I am a certified Korean teacher (P-12) in GA, and have 2 certificates for Korean, serving both native, and non-native speakers. I joined YHALE in 2022. I love to eat Korean food with my family and like to play the piano and violin.”
