Katelyn Lindsey

6th/7th - English & Social Studies

Ms. Katelyn Lindsey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Georgia Gwinnett College and a Master’s Degree in Folklife and Southern Culture from the Northwestern University of Louisiana. She is certified to teach secondary English and Social Studies (grades 6-12) and obtained her Gifted Certification in 2024. 

Ms. Lindsey was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has lived in the Metro Atlanta area for 28 years. She worked in Fulton County for 3 years, and is excited to return to Gwinnett County and join YHALE for her fourth year of teaching.

Ms. Lindsey currently lives with her partner and their two senior dogs, Skittle the 12-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, and Noel the 17-year-old Chihuahua. She has several hobbies, including quilting, gaming, cooking, drawing, and writing. She has been working on a sci-fi novel over the last two years, and in her free time plays the Pokemon training cards games with her partner.

Josh Hong

6th/7th Grade - Math & Science

Mr. Josh Hong has lived in Georgia for over 17 years. Mr. Hong holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Pre-Education from Georgia State University. Before joining YHALE, Mr. Hong taught in several private school settings.  He also has an interest in many other areas such as music, fitness, and cooking. Mr. Hong is ready to teach the next generation of learners.

Heerae Roh

6th/7th Grade - Korean

Ms. Heerae Roh holds Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese (Mandarin) and a TESOL certificate. She  can speak three languages and recently arrived in Georgia from Korea. She has worked as a foreign language supervisor at an international school in Korea and has also served as a classroom teacher for elementary students. Ms. Roh serves as the school’s middle school Korean teacher at YHALE. She can teach Korean to both Korean and other foreign students effectively, making it memorable for them. She loves working with her students.

Amy Jiang

Amy Jiang

6th/7th Grade - Mandarin

Ms. Amy  Jiang earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Computational Biology from the National University of Singapore. She later discovered her passion for education and completed her postgraduate studies in Chinese language teaching at Nanyang Technological University. Since then, she has accumulated 15 years of experience teaching Mandarin.

Originally from China, Ms. Jiang moved to Singapore at the age of 20 and has been living in the United States for the past five years. She continues to pursue her love for teaching and is certified in both K–12 Chinese and grades 6–12 Mathematics in the state of Georgia.

Ms. Jiang believes that language learning is a powerful means of connecting with culture and community. Her teaching emphasizes active participation, cultural exploration, and creating a welcoming classroom where students feel confident and inspired to learn.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Jiang enjoys reading detective novels and spending time with her family and two cats.
